Wi-Fi Technology
Wi-Fi stands for "Wireless Fidelity" which is another name for IEEE 802.11B. It is a trade term promulgated by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA). "Wi-Fi" is used in place of 802.11B, the same way that "Ethernet" is used in place of IEEE 802.3.

Cellular modem from Sixnet model A-2300
Need to communicate to a remote terminal with no Ethernet or modem connections? Is modem communication too slow? Do you need to be On-line with the 7XX series terminal? We have found a new communication solution for remote sites with no telephone or network or serial communication lines. Standard SY-7XX terminals with TCP/IP card can be connected to a cellular modem in a remote site. The cellular modem is communicating with the internet via data line over cellular network (Verizon) using TCP/IP protocol.
Synel has just finished testing The Sixnet Gateway A-2300. The Sixnet Gateway A-2300 is a compact wireless router designed to economically connect devices to a cellular network. This Linux-based router allows TCP/IP and async devices such as the SY-715, SY-745, SY-777 and SY-785 terminals access to a CDMA network. The A-2300 provides protocol conversion, security and routing for the terminal’s data.
